A really interesting place which is hard to see anywhere else.Recommend to visit when you’re in Hallstatt.

Ossuary
The ossuary is a one-of-a-kind and worth a quick visit. It's a few euros to go inside, and the room isn't very big. There is a handout, in multiple languages, explaining why and how this came to be. It was crowded, and the visit wasn't very long, but it's a popular stop while in Hallstatt. Our visit lasted about 5 minutes. It was worth it to some members of our group, and less so to others. I left rather ambivalent about it.

It looks like the storage of bones. There is no the quiet and sacred atmosphere as in the church. The bones were moved from the graves because the cemetery is too small and they didn't have enough places to burry the bodies. The last one was moved here in 1995. I think much more better is the ossuary in Czech Republic in Kutná Hora.

Must see place if you like this kind of stuff! Unique ossuary with hand painted skulls, the cave is very small but unique. Price is 1.5€ per person (August 2022), and you can get information in multiple languages. Unfortunately can't take photos or videos inside

Ossuary
You are not allowed to take pics once you are inside. Other people did so just look at their photos. People complained that it’s dark inside. It is but you can see the bones and skulls still your eyes will adjust. Super interesting inside with all the skills painted and all the bones stacked up. The space itself is small. They do that because the cemetery is small so the bones are removed and stored. There is a fee to enter I thought it was worth it personally.

La cosa che ci è piaciuta meno del bellissimo paese di Hallstatt. La stanzina dell'ossario è davvero piccola e buia. 1,50€ a testa per l'ingresso, ti consegnano un foglio con una breve storia in italiano mal tradotta.

Hallstatt'ı herkes romantik, bol çiçekli kasabası ve berrak gölüyle bilse de bu ossuary gerçekten Hallstatt'ta olduğunuzu unutturacak kadar ilginçtir. Yamaçtaki kilisenin yanında, mezarlığın arkasında yer alıyor. Katakomp ve ossuary meraklıları için ilginç bir deneyim olur. Gittiğinizde uğrayın derim.
