Amadeus International School Vienna

My daughter moved to Vienna & to Amadeus (DP1) this year & she absolutely loves it! Transferring into another school can be nerve wrecking, but the teachers are amazing & they really do care about the students. Boarding parents are one of the nicest and they always have fun activities on weekends. I definitely recommend!

I study at this school, the impressions of the classes themselves are good, but the teachers are something, they consider themselves more important than the students, the teachers are rude, one of the examples: they transfer the children to the back desks and despite the fact that they say that they do not see the reports, but they tell the teachers that (it's not my business, I had to buy glasses) it's terrible, especially the new rule that when you go to the toilet before leaving, the teacher has to search you and has the right to follow you to the toilet. This is just nonsense and there are many negatives, but so far these two are most noticeable in studying and simply being at school.

Honestly, I am so surprised about this feedback on Chris from Mariano. From my experience with Chris, I have never noticed this kind of attitude. I stayed in many countries where my children attended international schools, but I have rarely seen someone in the school administration who is so dedicated and passionate about his job and most importantly willing to help and assist at any time. Every time, I brought a concern to Chris’s attention I got a solution. To me, Chris is really a problem solver and very close to students. He is really a good asset for Amadeus international School.Through this post, my intention is not to spark any controversy but I could not to react to this post based on my own interactions with Chris.Thank you!

Having arrived in Vienna the middle of the pandemic, I cannot emphasise enough how warm and welcoming this school has been for my daughter. From the beginning, we have had an excellent experience with the staff, who go out of their way to make all the children's day a good one (and even remember quite a few of them by name - one of the benefits of a smaller school body). The school also has a great library, beautiful campus buildings with tall ceilings and lots of sunshine. They are currently in the process of renovating their entire playground. My daughter is especially enamoured with their creative program - if you are looking for a school with a holistic incorporation of music, theatre and visual arts this is really the place for you, because they can integrate private music lessons into the daily program of the kids (with excellent professional teachers) and have a great selection of after-school activities which are way broader than those of the other private schools in Vienna.

I am a student at Amadeus, as well as at the Music and Arts Academy.This is the most supportive and caring school!

The school itself is overpriced but good, most of the teachers are caring and highly encourage healthy communication between students and teachers. There is a huge problem with miscommunication of the administration and students, especially since the start of the coronavirus situation. Currently many students, vaccinated and not, are getting sick after being in contact with other students from different classes and being in closed space with their classmates throughout the whole day. More and more students are getting sick in this school and students and parents find out about it through other parents and other students, not from the administration or the school’s “weekly updates” where they just talk about their measures, which from what everyone sees now are not doing much. I wish the school’s administration cared more about the students’ health and well-being instead of the school’s reputation in terms of how “well” they are handling the global pandemic.

I love this school! Sending my daughter to school (Early Years - 3 years old) for the first time was a daunting experience, but the openness of the students and the expertise of the teachers has made this experience incredibly positive. My daughter thoroughly enjoys this school and the exceptional opportunities that are presented to her i.e., ballet, music and art lessons. My daughter has friends from all around the world and can now recall all of her classmates nationalities. Every morning, she bounces out of bed and is ready for school; this school is really a dream!

I went to school here and really enjoyed it, the teachers are very creative and kind, they really do care abt children, the lessons are not boring and almost everybody understands the subject. There is alot of space and the playground is very chill and the halls and classrooms are clean. The safety is really good and there is positive energy spreading around the whole building. The sports and dance clubs are also good, the children are very motivated and flexible!The food is awesome the way it is!Thank you for creating such a good place!

@MarianoWienWien, sounds like a disgruntled former employee here. This school is absolutely lovely and Chris is the face of the school in the morning: smiling and welcoming and helping kids sort out whatever they need as they make their way to class. My children love going to school and that says it all.
