There are two interesting sculptures in front of Deutsches Jagd und Fischereimuseum (Hunting and Fishing Museum) along Neuhauser Straße. One is a sitting boar and the other is the Wels catfish, which is the work of German sculptor Claus Nageler (1982).What you will see is a bronze of the giant catfish species, it appears to be a larger-than-life sized catfish ascending from a riverbed with his mouth opened wide as if about to feed. The statue is placed on a simple rock base and is low to the ground.Note: We've seen children climbing on the Wels Catfish for pictures on several occasions during visits to Munich. Hasn't appeared to problem at all. Something to keep in mind if you are looking for interesting things for the little ones to do/see during visits to Munich.
